Starting a New Career in my 40s!

Hey so I am gonna be 43 years old in July and about to start a whole new career!  I have been doing Hair and working in a Beauty Salon since I was 17 years old! I am not even sure why I decided on this career path! I suppose it was because I had one of those big barbie heads when I was a kid and and also the play dough barber shop! But, what I can remember of it, the barbie head ended up with really bad matted hair and the barber shop people ended up with rock hard dried up play dough, stuck in side them LOL none the less, they were both fun to play with and this is the only reason I can think of that could be a reason why I choose that career path! I was never really happy being a hairdresser! I loved my regular customers! So I stayed in that line of work, but really, there was nothing else I could think of that I wanted to do and so for years, I just stayed working in a Beauty salon! Then around the beginning of 2009 I decided to try out being a Team Beachbody Coach! As I started going thru the training for that, and attending live events, I quickly came to realize that I did not want to a hair dresser in my future! I wanted to get into something that I loved doing and that was more of a feel of being my calling! So on came my mission to get out of the hair biz and someday be full time Beachbody! I still gave 100% to my customers at the salon! After all, this was still my career and I did want to continue to build relationships my customers and of course “make money’!!!

Well, to make a long story short, many of you already know that my husband recently got a job promotion and we moved from PA to Texas, and this was my opportunity to leave the salon biz and make a go at Beachbody full time! So of course,I totally went for it! And my Beachbody biz is pulling in enough money to get this to work so why not! I did however, cut back on as many expenses as I could! Small little luxuries that I figured  I could earn them back in time

So, anyway, I get to Texas and I figured Id start networking and see who lives in my area, and with in a matter of days I am presented with an opportunity to teach aerobic classes! WOW, this was so exciting to me because I actually became a Hip Hop Hustle Instructor with some friends back in PA last year, which ended up not working out as planned but you know, Chalene Johnson always says that there are never missed opportunities, just because something doesn’t happen at the moment wont mean that it will never happen! Opportunity will come knocking again! I actually had figured that my chance at being a fitness instructor was done! But WOW, the opportunity DID come knocking again and this time it will happen and Is going to be a brand new career for me! All those years of feeling stuck and hopeless ended up bringing me to this day and place! I am so excited to get this thing started! I am currently waiting for my study material to arrive in the mail and I am gonna hit the books the minute they arrive! My first priority is going to be getting my certification to teach group exercise but not stopping there! I am then going to go on to get certified in group barbell as well and possibly aquatics because I was also offered a job teaching water aerobics! I think that would be cool also! I am still a passionate being a Team Beachbody Coach and always will be! Being a Beachbody Coach has really opened a lot of doors for me and gave me the right tools that I needed and the courage to get up and get out there and find something that I really wanted to do! And im going for it! And Chalene Johnsons programs lead me to believe that anything is possible at any age and to take full advantage of whats available online! I used to think that I would be stuck in a Beauty Salon forever because for one, I had no idea what else I wanted to do and for two, I didn’t know if I wanted to invest the money into going to collage to learn a new career anyway! Thank goodness for finding out that anyone can learn anything they want online and also make a half decedent income online with very little money invested and sometimes no money invested at all! Its really amazing!

So here’s to starting  over at the age of 43!! That’s right! AGE 43 and starting a whole new career!!
