Cactus Juice!

I went to a restaurant the other day and was served *Cactus Juice* with my meal! I had never even heard of this as a drink ever before in my life!! I didn’t much like it! When I got home later that evening I searched Cactus Juice online and was surprised to find out that this drink is actually really good for us!

Cactus juice provides us with beta-carotene, vitamin B, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, calcium and numerous other minerals and vitamins. Also is rich in amino acids, specifically taurine. Taurine has antioxidants and flavonoids, both of which are beneficial to the body.

What it is? Cactus juice, also known as nopales, nopalitos or prickly pear juice, is a popular beverage in Mexico, South America, India, the Middle East and parts of Europe. This beverage has recently caught on in popularity in the United States.

One cup serving has 393 IU of vitamin A, 8 mg vitamin C, 141 mg calcium, 45 mg magnesium, 14 mg phosphorus, 221 mg potassium and 18 mg sodium. 14 calories, 0.1 g of fat, 2.9 g total carbohydrates, 1.9 g fiber, 1 g sugar, 1.1 g protein, 4.3 g Omega-3 fatty acids, 37.8 mg Omega-6 fatty acids

Some Health benefits of drinking Cactus Juice are: Prevents inflammation,strengthen immune system, prevent premature aging, helps control and lover cholesterol and can even help with diabetes!

I was also told that we can drink it straight or mix it in a beverage! I tried it both ways! I didn’t like it straight but in my fruit smoothie it was a little more bearable!

Its recommended that we take one to two tablespoons of Cactus Juice a day for numerous health benefits

You do learn something new everyday! Like you, I’ll probably have to mix it in a beverage in order for it to be bearable. Thanks for the great info!

Same here!! so really, i guess we would be ok if we got stranded out in the desert :-)
