About Me “Empty Nester”

I recently became an *Empty Nester* moved from PA to TX and my two children who are ages 20 and 22 did not come with me. This is the first time I have moved that they didn’t come with me! Its interesting how now all of a sudden im thinking about the past A LOT! We had a lot of good times! Just wished I realized that more when we were having those good time!!! I actually want to go back to school shopping and all that good stuff even tho I remember complaining about it! LOL I just ordered a book called “Chicken Soup for the Empty Nesters” and looking forward to starting it! Here is a quote from the book “”How do you know when a fruit is ripe? When it leaves the bunch.”" ~André Gide I really think im gonna like this book!
Anyway, if your an “Empty Nester” also lets connect!
Here is a little Bit more About me! My Name is Christina Sears, I am a 40 something, married mother of two grown sons. Thinking back over the past years of my life, I believe that I have always had a passion for fitness! As a kid, I remember doing the “20 minute workout” that was on TV every sat morning! It was so much fun even though I had no idea what I was suppose to be doing during the commercial breaks! That was kinda irritating to me lol Then a few years later the movie “Flash Dance” came out and I went to see it and instantly wanted to be exactly like the main character in Flash Dance! I bought the sound track to that movie and would try and copy the training that she did in the movie! This is when I’m pretty sure my passion for dancing started! As I started going thru my teen years I wanted to join a gym, even though I absolutely hated gym class at school but the gym classes at school were sport related, I wanted to do aerobic classes and take dancing and use the exercise bike and treadmill and so on! I did NOT want to do football, baseball, kickball and so on. I hated anything “ball” related! Also through my teens years I started to take more notice to all sorts of aches and pains that I would experiance from time to time which scared me back then but recently discovered it was fibromyalgia. In my 20s I got married and had kids and finally joined a gym! one that I could do the stuff that I enjoyed! Dancing and aerobics along with other toning and sculpting classes and step aerobics! I went to the gym off and on thru my 20s and 30s and never really did any weight baring exercises! Then, in my late 30s I found myself not getting any results like I had so easily in the past and even tho I was never really all that much over weight , I was very blubbery and started to notice my skin was beginning to sag and that made me really depressed and feeling old
I soon discovered turbo jam, a home fitness dvd which opened up a whole new world for me! First of all It lead me to “Team Beachbody where now as I go thru my 40s I am being educated for the first time about diet and nutrition, personal development and the most important fact I have learned from my favorite mentor “Chalene Johnson” is that I need to do weight baring exercises! I have also met a ton of like minded people thru Team Beachbody! None of this was ever available at the gym I spent nearly 20 years going to! In fact, I only made a hand full of friends there which we barely ever kept in touch with!
I threw together a short video to add to this “About me” page and as I went thru some of my pics from past, I realized that I barely ever smiled in the past but in the more recent pics I am just beaming with smiles! That in itself is Success!
Here is the video! Hope you like it!
Im new to the whole “Empty Nest” thing but moving forward and want to still be the best mom I can be!

Awesome writing style!
This is by far my favorite blog! Keep up the good work!
Hi. I just simply needed to actually make a good brief remark and also let you grasp that in fact I’ve been reading your personal web publication for quite some time. Keep up the awesome task and I am going to be checking back once again in a little while.
Very interesting topic, thank you for putting up.
Love your blog!
I found your blog very inspiring! I have a friend who has fibromyalgia and I can only imagine the pain and suffering she goes through! I’m going to have to share your blog site with her!
Thanks Mary and tell your friend with the Fibro to just keep moving and eat healthy! Just like that commercial on tv *A body in motion stays in motion* If we don’t keep our joints and muscles strong and flexible then the pain will be much much worst and then lead to other more serious problems and sometimes not as easy to reverse and then will need more meds and it just ends up being a horrible cycle we get stuck in! Much easier to put in a little effort now that will pay off later on in life
Good for you Christina. You are living proof that anyone can do what they set their mind to.
Thanks Rick!

Christina: Just found out you’re not at Hair Express anymore–they said you moved out of state. I’m hoping it’s Delaware or NJ. Do you still do hair? (I’m the lady who used to bring the little TV to play Grease).
